Drenched in the spirit of independence, another month full of festivities has slipped away but not without leaving behind an assortment of devices. Like always, the tech-world did not disappoint us with all sorts of gizmos pouring in from left, right and center, giving us a difficult time in selecting the coolest ones. Nevertheless, we are out with the much anticipated list of gadgets you can own to raise your cool quotient even further. So read on to find out which gadgets managed to create a buzz. And well, nevermind about those which went unnoticed.

With competition amongst operating systems scaling new peaks, it was just a matter of time before Nokia came up with its latest platform. Towards the end of the month, it announced the launch of three new smartphones employing the Symbian belle OS. Scheduled to be launched in the third quarter of this year, the 700 smartphone boasts of its extremely compact design while the 701 brags about its brightest screen. And to complement the audio functionalities of the 600 smartphone, the company introduced the Essence Bluetooth headset.

Seemingly, the popularity of tablets has prompted Reliance to jump onto the bandwagon as the company launched its 7-inch Gingerbread-powered 3G tab. Looks like the affordably priced tablet will give a tough time to its rivals with the advantage over tariff plans through the carrier. Only we expect the bigwig to come up with better names for upcoming gadgets in the future.

Yesterday at the India On held at Delhi, Qualcomm announced the launch of some new gizmos. Employing dual 5MP camera, the HTC Evo 3D offers a glasses-free 3D experience through its QHD display. The 3G enabled MapMyIndia Carpad running on Snapdragon processor also made its debut.

Reliance was not the only one to launch its tablet in India, this month saw the release of the much awaited Samsung Galaxy Tab 750, which is nothing but another version of the Samsung Galaxy 10.1. This ultra-thin tablet was not the only one to make a debut, accompanying it to the market was the Galaxy Tab 730. Running on the Honeycomb platform, this tablet promises to offer a wide range of attributes to look out for.

The ever-increasing BBM fan club in India is probably the reason why RIM has been introducing smartphones in the country. BlackBerry Bold 9900 handset made a debut on LetsBuy which was closely followed by the BlackBerry Torch 9810. And the BlackBerry announcements were not limited to these handsets. The Curve 9350, 9360 and 9370 which arrived in Canada, are expected to go globe trekking next month. Though these devices sport a refreshed look, the design continues to be inspired from the basic BlackBerry-ish form-factor.

What delighted gamers throughout the world this month was the news about Sony slashing the price of PlayStation 3. The price dip in India was about 15 percent for the 160GB variant and very conveniently coincided with the festive month. And that’s not all that Sony has to offer. We heard speculations about the release date of PS Vita handheld gaming console. It will most probably hit shelves in the month of October.

During monsoon it is not unusual to witness companies launching gadgets inspired by natural hues to keep up with the essence of the season and that’s exactly what Acer did. The ‘Gorgeous by Nature’ range of laptops dubbed Aspire 4755 and 5755 are garnished in some eye-pleasing colors like Blue, Green, Black and more. And if that did not quite manage to impress you, the economical price tag attached to these laptops might just manage to do the needful.
