Sony PlayStation Vita to shelf-up this October?

Ps Vita October Rumor

Sony may most probably have its cover blown by a flyer from BlockBuster UK, stating launch dates and pricing of the new PlayStation Vita. Having arrived on the doorsteps of IGN, the ad is believed to be sent by an anonymous reader.

Deemed to be authentic on receiving confirmation from BlockBuster, there are high chances for the device to hit the market in October. Also, the release of the new console may also be one of the reasons behind the drastic reduction in price of the Nintendo 3DS.

The NGP or PlayStation Vita (better known as PS Vita) is the latest addition to the hand-held gaming consoles from Sony. Powered by an ARM Cortex A9 quad-core processor and the SGX543MP4+ GPU, the device features a 5-inch capacitive OLED multi-touch screen with a screen ratio of 16:9 and resolution at 960 x 544. Sporting two cameras, one front-facing and second rear-facing, the console comes with built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR and 3G connectivity.

The Sony PlayStation Vita may most probably hit the shelves this October and as depicted on the ad, the console will be available in a Wi-Fi model priced at £229.99 (approx. Rs.14,434) whereas, the 3G and WI-Fi model comes with a price tag of £279.99 (approx. Rs. 17,572). As of now only speculations can be made on exactly where the device will receive its first launch. Many have stated the flyer to be fake whereas, Sony confirmed the device to make a phased global appearance during this holiday season.
