MapmyIndia CarPad unveiled through collaboration with Qualcomm

The MapmyIndia CarPad is all set to hit markets of India through collaboration with Qualcomm. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S1 processor and comes with built-in 3G connectivity.

The MapmyIndia CarPad features a 3D GPS navigation interface called Aura which provides real 3D navigation, house-level details and connects users nearby as well as those on the go based on location. Powered by Android, it features a 7-inch capacitive display along with support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Drivers are enabled to call, message, mail, chat, surf the web at fast pace and in short socialize with their friends while on the move.

Users are provided with optimum in-car entertainment facilities as they are allowed to enjoy FM Radio and music, view movies and videos, capture photos and videos as well as browse through pictures and use Flickr. The device offers live turn-by-turn voice guidance, augmented reality with 3D landmarks, buildings and terrain, house-level details, travel guides, nearby information and friend finders.

The MapmyIndia CarPad will be retailing from mid-September through leading electronics stores, car showrooms and car accessory shops in India as well as online at mapmyindia.com/carpad. Priced at Rs. 22,990, it is accompanied by a free Car-kit worth Rs 6,990 which comprises a headrest mount, windshield mount, CarPad holder and car charger.
