The highlight of the recently introduced Zeal Optics iON goggles is that it comes incorporated with a high-definition camera to capture mountainous sceneries with ease. This built-in snapper is capable of taking videos and pictures either on the move or while standing still, in one position.

Besides the HD camera, this new pair of goggles comes equipped with GPS technology as well. It boasts of a True HD video camera that allows users to shoot in 1080p and capture real-time video and audio. This integrated camera allows users to click clear 8MP photographs. They can operate it by simply tapping on the buttons situated at the side of the goggles, without the need of removing their gloves.

John Sanchez, vice president of product development at Zeal Optics, elaborated, “iON combines the most advanced image sensor technology designed in a very compact form that is cosmetically appealing. The sophistication and level of detail in the technical design of the internal components, combined with the external, in-trend goggle look, gives us a unique product that we are proud of. This system is very easy to use. So anyone can have fun sharing what happens every day of their lives.”

The camera featuring in this piece of eyewear, sports a 170-degree wide angle lens which makes it possible for users to capture images in the wide periphery. Powered by an incorporated rechargeable lithium-ion battery, it possesses an in-goggle viewfinder and on-camera controls. To be available in matte night black and moss green shades, iON offers a six-hour battery life and is embedded with a microSD card so that the shot content can be seen on a TV or PC.

The Zeal Optics iON goggles will be available through authorized stores and online retailers including zealoptics.com for a price of $399 (approx. Rs. 20,040). Its exact released date has not yet been disclosed.
