Mobikoma module based phone concept can transform into a tablet

Mobikoma

A device that could transform into a tablet from a phone within just a few minutes could very well turn into reality if the Mobikoma module based phone concept is put into action. Appearing to be every tech enthusiasts’ dream come true, this is basically a device which users can employ as a handset as well as a tablet by merely changing the size and form with their own hands.

Developed by designer Kamil Izrailov, this concept is based on modules which are capable of latching onto each other with micro locks. Its main mode of operation is the individual power supply and computing processor that each module possesses. This makes every unit powerful enough to function on its own and when joined together, all of these modules can make up an even more robust mobile phone or tablet.

While 54 elements are required to be joined together for the creation of a tablet computer, users would need to join only 2 units for developing a mini mobile phone measuring just 22mm x 44mm x 6mm. A normal sized handset can be made by getting together 18 modules. These units consist of two specific elements, one for the SIM storage of the phone and the other serving as the microphone. As reported on Yanko Design The two main elements sport programmed buttons while the others come without any specific tabs.

Since the Mobikoma module based phone is still in the concept stage, no details regarding its release date and price are known as of now.
