Samsung Galaxy Note hits UK drenched in a white hue

Those who are bored with black hued devices can feast their eyes on the Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone cum tablet that is set to don a white coat and debut in the UK starting today through John Lewis. It seems that the Japanese company is on a mission to splash their devices with the ivory shade as seen in the recent introductions of the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Released in November the world over, the white avatar of the slate will exhibit all the features of its black counterpart. It combines the functionalities of a smartphone as well as a tablet. Operating on a 1.4GHz dual core processor, this portable slab boasts of a 5.3-inch WXGA 1280 x 800p HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display.

Simon Stanford, Managing Director, UK & IRE Telecommunications & Networks Division, quipped, “At Samsung we always want to offer our customers choice and are delighted to bring the Galaxy Note in white to the UK. The Galaxy Note is an innovative addition to the Samsung Galaxy family and a new category of device that consumers can’t get anywhere else.”

The Galaxy Note comes integrated with pen input technology known as the S Pen which gives users an option of operating the device with their fingers or the accompanying Smart Pen. Running on Android 2.3, it features an 8MP main camera with LED flash and a 2MP secondary snapper for video calling.

The white version of the Samsung Galaxy Note will be retailing via John Lewis on Oxford Street London. It is expected to sport the same price tag of its black counterpart which reads as £594 (approx. Rs. 29,833) and the first 100 buyers will be entitled to receive £250 worth of free music, films and eBooks.
