LaCie USB 3.0 Mac storage options roll in

LaCie USB 3.0 Drives

Second generation LaCie USB 3.0 drives for Mac are here to quench the hoarding needs of all those MacBook users. The storage solutions manufacturer calls this new portfolio a re-engineered development leveraging computers with native USB 3.0 interfaces and Intel Ivy Bridge processors.

The enhanced drives included in the unveiling cover the Rugged Triple, Porsche Design P’9223 and P’9233. Also part of the show is the RuggedKey pen drive which we reported about just last week. Sporting the Neil Poulton design, the USB stick is touted to deliver transfer speeds of up to 150MB/s and 32GB flash memory.

“At LaCie we’re dedicated to USB 3.0. As a result, we’ve been able to deliver the widest range of USB 3.0 storage peripherals on the market. We’ve leveraged the exhaustive expertise of demanding content creators to develop best in class products for Mac users. LaCie’s 2nd generation USB 3.0 products will exceed expectation and deliver the fastest, most seamless user experience available,” remarked Erwan Girard, Professional Business Unit Manager, LaCie, while talking about the launch.

LaCie says that its new generation products will be able to take advantage of the performance improvement that the Mac OS X Lion and Mountain Lion platforms tag along. Owing to UAS (USB Attached SCSI Protocol), users of the latest MacBook Air, Pro and Pro with Retina display can apparently look forward to having a nifty USB 3.0 experience.

The second generation LaCie USB 3.0 solutions for Mac are available across the globe through the company’s online store and retailers as well as Apple resellers.
