The Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam that marks the launch of the company’s new product category meant for unified communications, seems apt for video calling in shared work spaces. The all-in-one A/V device is equipped with an HD webcam along with an omni-directional speakerphone for added convenience during web conferencing.
The USB device in question is compatible with PC systems as well as Mac computers. Its webcam can be panned, tilted or zoomed on to someone with a little assistance from the control pad embedded on the gadget or via the remote control, both of which also let users mute, monitor volume levels and make or end calls amongst others funtions. In order to further augment the web conferencing experience, the Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam offers compliance with Microsoft Lync, Skype and some other video and UC platforms.

The camera boasts of a wide field of view spanning 78 degrees, while it can be panned up to 180 degrees. Featuring auto focus and a Carl Zeiss lens, it is capable of recording 1080p videos at the rate of 30 frames per second, utilizing the UVC H.264 video technology. Additionally, the RightLight 2 technology captures improved quality pictures regardless of the lighting conditions. Furthermore, the speakerphone claims to transmit clear audio up to a distance of about 8 feet. The small footprint of the Logitech offering weighing close to 20 ounces, makes it easy to carry around the workplace.
The Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam priced at $249.99 (approx. Rs. 12,730), will be available in May this year through business-to-business resellers.
