iPad Mini release date set for October

iPad Mini Release Date

After a number of speculations, the iPad Mini might just be all set to make its debut this year with the company slating its release date for October. The manufacturer also seems to be planning a separate launch of this particular device. Well, so says a report.

Based on the information provided by Daring Fireball’s John Gruber, the guys over at AllThingsD state that the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini could make their first appearances at different events rather than sharing the spotlight on September 12. As per the news, the company is likely to officially announce the latter only after its next generation smartphone hits stores.

“I don’t think Apple would want reviews of both a new iPhone and new-size iPad appearing at the same time,” exclaimed Gruber. “Why share the spotlight? Why have another Apple product battling with the iPhone for the top spots in news coverage? The more I think about it, the less sense it makes for the iPhone to even share the stage at the announcement with any other product. The iPhone is too big, too cool, and garners too much attention — and it’s in Apple’s interest to keep that attention undiluted.”

Sources reveal that the device in question could be launched at an event scheduled for October this year. From what we hear, this mini version of the popular tablet might sport a 7-inch display. With its release, the manufacturer is likely to face tough competition from players such as the Kindle Fire and the existing Google Nexus 7 which belong to the same 7-inch segment.

For now, the company is yet to provide official confirmation with regards to the iPad Mini and its release date details.
