iPad Mini price details leak, Wi-Fi and cellular versions are in the pipeline

For once, the latest rumor is about the iPad Mini price and not another story dealing with its probable specifications. Apparently, an inventory system in Europe and Asia has supposedly leaked the cost details of the forthcoming 7-inch slate.

From what we see, the tablet will hit stores in two base versions, namely a Wi-Fi and a cellular variant. As per the report, the cost for the Wi-Fi version could start at €249 or approximately $320 (approx. Rs. 16,960), while the second variant might go up for sale at a minimum of €349 or $450 (approx. Rs. 23,855). Apparently, both models will be dipped in shades of black and white and potential buyers will have the option of selecting between 8GB, 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal memory.

As the guys over at ZDNet point out, Apple is likely to set the ideal cost for the yet to be announced tablet below $299, in consideration of the 9.7-inch 16GB Wi-Fi iPad 2 and iPad 3 priced at $399 and $499, respectively. As for its release date details, the Cupertino-based company is supposedly planning an October 23 launch for its next big thing, or the rumored iPad Mini. And we have reason to believe it as the manufacturer has sent out invites for an event to be held on that particular date.

According to AllThingsD, the show might take place at Apple’s Town Hall Auditorium. For those who are still new to the device we have been talking about, here’s a quick recap. The tablet is speculated to bring in a 7.85-inch liquid-crystal Retina display and the Lighting Connector seen in the iPhone 5 and the new iPods. Users might get their hands on the latest version of the iOS platform in addition to a 32nm A5 processor and 512MB of RAM. Features like a rear-facing camera, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE compatibility are also some highlights to watch out for.

Naturally, the prices mentioned below for the iPad Mini are not the final listing. So buyers can keep their fingers crossed for the base versions to fall below €249.
