Xolo Q500 debuts in India for Rs 7,999, brings X-TransPic app

The Xolo Q500 has been released in India via the official website and the device has already been made available for a price that stands at Rs 8,000. It may be an entry-level and affordable gadget, but crams in a quad core processor along with the Jelly Bean OS.

Xolo has pre-loaded an application called X-TransPic into the smartphone for helping users who cannot read Hindi. The app is capable of translating almost anything written in Hindi into English, be it billboards, posters, texts or menu items. This phone adopts a compact form factor measuring 118.5 x 63 x 10.7 millimeters and manages to accommodate a 4-inch touchscreen on the front panel. The OGS display with a pixel density of 233ppi has 800 x 480p resolution.

The dual SIM handset employs a set of two cameras, a VGA lens for the front and a 5MP snapper for the rear panel. The latter also tags along a single LED flash and attributes such as auto focus, touch focus, video recording and digital zoom to name a few. Its intuitive interface is due to the Android 4.1 platform, while the ability to multitask comes with the quad core Qualcomm MSM8225Q processor that can sprint at 1.2GHz.

And if that’s not enough, the 3G phone brings an entire gigabyte of RAM with 4GB onboard storage which is expandable by up to 32GB using a microSD card. Its wireless communication options include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, while a USB port and an audio jack come in handy for tethering it to various accessories or the computer system. The included power pack has a capacity of 1450mAh.

The Xolo Q500 is now up for grabs for Rs 7,999 in India.
