Xolo Q1000 Opus smartphone with Broadcom processor coming to India this month

Xolo, the company behind devices like the Q2000, A600, Q900 and more, has announced that it has an all new gadget up its sleeve that goes by the name of Q1000 Opus. Interested users in India should be able to lay their paws on this smartphone by the end of this month, but we have no idea what the exact release date is.

What makes the Q1000 Opus special is that the Indian manufacturer has ditched the MediaTek processors and has chosen a chipset by Broadcom for it. This is not the first time when the company has opted for chips other than MediaTek. It was the first homegrown brand which had collaborated with Intel and had launched more than a couple of phones with Intel Inside.

It is basically a phablet and will be showing off a touchscreen that measures 5 inches diagonally. And as for the Broadcom component, it utilizes BCM23550 (Java) chip that is based on the ARM Cortex A7 architecture. It clocks in a speed of 1.2GHz and tags along VideoCore multimedia support.

Another advantage is that there’s dual display support in the phone, thanks to Miracast and potential buyers can stream HD content on a Wi-Fi-enabled display that supports the service. You may not get LTE support on the phone, but you can expect HSPA+ network coverage. Some of its other features include Cell ID, MEMs, GPS and Wi-Fi. And we are expecting it to be based on one of the versions of the Android Jelly Bean platforms.

The Xolo Q1000 Opus smartphone’s price details are currently under wraps.
