Xolo Prime with Android Lollipop launched at Rs 5699

Xolo has launched a new entry-level Lollipop smartphone in India called Prime and it’s touting this device as an affordable option with great looks. The handset carries a price tag of Rs 5699 and it’s at par with Android One devices where hardware is concerned.

Design-wise, however, the Xolo Prime is on a whole other level. The company has given the phone a premium look through colored glass finishes on the rear panel, a design which looks heavy inspired by Sony. In fact, it would have been our first guess that the handset was from the Japanese OEM itself.

Well, the Xolo logo on the rear will certainly help you differentiate it from Sony phones. Considering that the device will have a full glass body, there ought to be preventive measures to ensure that small falls will not easily land a few cracks. Sadly, the product page makes no mention of any tempered glass or other protective coatings being used.

The Prime is an entry-level option at its best where hardware is concerned. It’s powered by a 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek processor. For visuals, there’s a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS LCD panel on the front accompanied by a VGA snapper, while the rear has a 5MP shooter.

Here’s a better look at the Xolo Prime’s key specifications:
