Although it was known that the iPhone 5 would release in October, there has been much confusion regarding the precise launch date. The October 4 date has been disclosed by All Things Digital and driven iPhone enthusiasts in a frenzy.
ATD suggests that while Tim Cook will be heading the event, the company executives including marketing head Phil Schiller, iOS chief Scott Forstall and the new SVP of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue, will be present for aiding in the disclosure of the elusive smartphone. Speculation is rife that the fifth version of the iPhone will be available for purchase within a few weeks of the announcement, though All Things Digital acknowledges that the exact date of its unveiling is still subject to change.
