Apple event announced for October 23, iPad mini may be on the cards

Apple Event Invite

The upcoming Apple event slated to be held on October 23, invites for which have already been rolled out, will more likely than not be for the unveiling of the iPad mini. The company says that it has ‘a little more to show’ and that most probably hints towards a small device, unless it refers to mini versions of the MacBook Pro or the Mac computer system.

But as the guys over at Wired mention, the conglomerate is rumored to have build a 13-inch MacBook Pro, which is all set to share the spotlight with the iPad’s younger sibling. 9to5Mac, who found out about the little Apple laptop, had also reported about a new Mac. Apparently, the 13-inch notebook is fitted with a Retina display that can render visuals in 2560 x 1600p resolution and will carry a price tag that reads less than $2,200.

Nevertheless, the mini tablet is expected to be the main attraction of the event. Speculations regarding the specifications of the device in question have been doing the rounds for quite some time now and one of them is that the slab will flaunt a 7.85-inch multi-touch display of 1024 x 768p resolution. While it may resemble the iPod touch, its internal system is likely to be similar to the iPad 2’s. So prospective users may find an A5 processor as well as 512MB of RAM under the hood along with some other things such as a 9-pin connector, built-in Wi-Fi and 4G LTE support.

Apple has already started sending out invites for the event slated to be held on October 23, supposedly for the unveiling of the iPad mini.
