The iHome Airplay iW2 speaker system has made an entry into the tech arena and it seems all geared up to hit the market on April 1. Successor to the iW1, the device is a single unit and can be used as an USB charging dock for the iPad, iPod and iPhone too.

Equipped with AirPlay, the iW2 is capable of wirelessly streaming music from iTunes and iDevices over a Wi-Fi connection. It is being categorized as an iOS app enhanced gadget, which makes it compatible with iHome + Sleep alarm clock, iHome + Radio internet radio as well as iHome Connect network setup applications.

“Many whole home audio systems require a significant investment from consumers and, until recently, a certain level of technical skill as well,” conveyed Evan Stein, Director of Marketing, iHome. “Easy to set-up, the iW2 offers a cost-effective entry into the world of wireless home entertainment without sacrificing quality or functionality.”
