iHome iW1 AirPlay Rechargeable Speaker

The portable iHome iW1 AirPlay rechargeable speaker system has been released to wirelessly stream music through iTunes or ‘i’ devices such as iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It promises to render clear audio with the help of the iHome Connect app and Wi-Fi connection.

This portable speaker system takes advantage of the AirPlay technology of Apple devices which allows wireless music streaming. Besides Wi-Fi, the audio gear can also be connected using the USB port to play music as well as charge these mobile devices. Additionally, it sports a 3.5mm stereo auxiliary input to facilitate connections to various other compatible devices. The system is compliant with iTunes 10.1 or later and iOS 4.2 or later.

The sleek device features a capacitive touch panel to offer a better user interface. It can also be controlled with the aid of the iOS devices or the accompanying remote control. Deployed with the Bongiovi Acoustics Digital Power Station technology, it claims to extend audio bandwith to reproduce deep bass and clear highs. The audio can further be enhanced using the adjustable EQ to control the bass and treble. Moreover, the iW1 is equipped with a rechargeable Lithium ion battery and can also be powered via AC current.

The iHome iW1 AirPlay rechargeable speaker system carries a price tag of $299 (approx. Rs. 14,615) and is available at the Apple Store, Best Buy and Crutchfield.
