Sony ICD-TX50 01

Extending the commonly desired attribute of slimness to voice recorders, the Sony ICD-TX50 looks all set to augment the company’s spring line-up of handheld devices. Apart from storing audio in formats like linear PCM and MP3, it also acts as a player for MP3, AAC, WMA or WAV files.

The device weighs approximately 50g with batteries and its physical dimensions measure 40.8 x 102.3 x 6.4 millimeters. The manufacturer highlights this to be its slimmest voice recording gadget till date. While the fully juiced up battery is said to be capable of recording audio for an uninterrupted 24 hours, users will apparently require charging it for merely 3 minutes to go through a quick session of 1 hour.

For storage purposes, the offering has been embedded with up to 4GB memory which can be externally expanded by means of a microSD card. Owing to its size, the sleek gadget seems good enough to be easily slipped into almost any pocket. To enable extra security in such cases, it has been designed with a clip. Five scene mode options spanning Shirt Pocket, Meeting, Interview and more are integrated for different situations.

It is even expected to push forth the new desktop-styled ICD-LX30 sometime in the future.

The Sony ICD-TX50 release date and price details have not been revealed yet. It is anticipated to be made commercially available in Europe by mid-April 2012.
