The BlackBerry World 2012 that commences today has marked the arrival of the BlackBerry Music Gateway, a Bluetooth enabled audio streaming accessory that works with RIM smartphones, the PlayBook as well as many other devices. It has also acquired NFC certification for compatibility with NFC enabled mobile gadgets.

Dug up by Engadget, the audio peripheral in question can be employed for the purpose of streaming music to car and home stereo systems via any of the BlackBerry OS powered or Bluetooth-enabled devices, provided they come with A2DP or AVRCP profiles. As it connects via Bluetooth, the accessory eliminates the hassles of tethering cords or cables and is functional as far as 30 feet away from the stereo.

The company claims that it renders audio sans distortion and without letting users miss even a single beat. Besides Bluetooth, the Music Gateway can be connected via NFC simply by tapping the compatible devices to it. Connecting it to the home or car stereo systems should not be a problem either, as the manufacturer has packaged it along with an RCA cable and a 3.5mm cord.

Users can continue to multitask on their mobile devices and the music streaming stops and starts automatically when answering a call. It also plays music from various mobile apps such as BBM Music, Pandora, Slacker and more.

The BlackBerry Music Gateway release date and price are tagged at June 2012 and $49.99 (approx. Rs. 2,630), respectively.
