Panasonic T31 sub-8K smartphone sets foot in the budget Android market

The Panasonic T31 could be one of the last few smartphones that the company has designed to be launched in the budget Android segment of India, considering that it has decided to quit the segment. This handset is slated to be made available in the country towards the end of this month.

The compact device is big enough for accommodating a 4-inch TFT touchscreen that renders visuals in 800 x 480p resolution. It operates with the assistance of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OS and will be receiving FOTA upgrades as and when they are released. Its pure white or bluish black exterior weighs in at 120 grams and has dimensions of 122 x 64.4 x 11.95 millimeters.

Featuring common communication options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS and more, the Panasonic phone is compatible with up to 3G networks. Apart from a front-mounted VGA webcam for video conferencing purposes, the device tags along a 3.2MP primary camera for capturing VGA videos at the rate of 30 frames per second.

As for the internal working of the gadget, it is taken care of by a dual core processor that can clock in a speed of 1.3GHz. It contains 512MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard memory which is expandable by up to 32GB using a microSD card. A 1300mAh battery rests under the hood to deliver talk time of about 9.5 hours on a single charge. Its standby time is of around 400 hours in the 3G mode.

The Panasonic T31 carries a price tag of Rs 7,990 and as we said, it will be up for sale later this month.
