With a view to redefine the smartphone segment, Panasonic has today launched the P51 in India and has attached a price tag of Rs. 26,990. It is slated to hit markets via leading retail outlets, multi-brand stores and distributors very soon. The device is bundled along with a magnetic flip cover and a stylus for better navigation.
The Panasonic P51 is basically aimed at the youth and those who require a device which is relatively fast. Drenched in shades of black and white, it measures 144 x 75 x 8.5 millimeters and tips the scales at merely 150 grams. The handset operates with the assistance of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 platform which is responsible for the intuitive interface and smooth transitions between apps.
As it is driven by a quad core processor, interested customers can expect the device to launch more than a single application at the same time. It clocks in a maximum speed of 1.2GHz and works in tandem with 1GB of RAM. Although the phone has merely 4GB of onboard storage, an expansion slot has been carved into the chassis for increasing the memory further. Its ability to offer usage time of hours together can be attributed to a 2500mAh battery.
The front side of the phablet is graced by a 5-inch IPS HD capacitive multi-touch display of 1280 x 720p resolution as well as by a 1.3MP camera that has especially been provided for video calling purposes. And an 8MP one with auto focus and LED flash has been fitted on the rear side for clicking decent-quality pictures and videos.
An accelerometer, a digital compass, a proximity sensor as well as an ambient light sensor have been thrown into the mix as well.
