The Sony Xperia ZL release date window for Canada is out and the device is slated to make its debut through various carriers like MTS, Rogers, Mobilicity, Bell, Videotron, Wind Mobile and more in April. The Japanese manufacturer first introduced the Z smartphone’s design variant to us at the CES held last month.
Flaunting an eye-pleasing exterior, the Xperia ZL comes wrapped in a curvy easy-to-hold body and employs the OmniBalance design technique. Its front side is graced by a scratch-resistant and shatter-proof 5-inch full HD Reality display of 1080p resolution, powered by the Mobile Bravia Engine 2. Additionally, a 2MP camera rests on the front to capture high definition videos and enable prospective users to make face-to-face video calls.
Apart from this, a 13MP fast capture snapper with Exmor RS for mobile sensor, LED flash, 16x digital zoom, auto focus, face detection, geo-tagging and more has been fitted on the rear panel and shoots 1080p videos too. It treats users to a generous helping of the Android Jelly Bean 4.1 OS and gets steam from an asynchronous quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor which clocks in a speed of 1.5GHz.
In addition to 2GB of RAM, there’s 16GB of onboard memory and a microSD expansion slot which can be employed for the purpose of increasing the storage by up to 32GB. The phone with dimensions of 5.18 x 2.7 x 0.39 inches, tips the scales at just a little over 150 grams. Moreover, its battery works in tandem with the Stamina mode and manages to cough up talk time of close to 10 hours and standby time that lasts for about 500 hours.
The handset in question brings the NFC technology for instant data transfer to compatible devices and is loaded with common communication options such as Bluetooth and DLNA. There’s Wi-Fi for internet access and GPS for accurate turn-by-turn navigation. It has been pre-loaded with applications like Walkman, Album and Movies and has received the PlayStation certification too.
