Pantech Star Q Verizon phone pops in for a sneak shot

Pantech QWERTY Phone

Now not everyone who is an Android fan has their eye out for high end options and the Pantech Star Q Verizon should arrive as a nice break from the usual, to those hunting down a wallet-friendly smartphone. After the Motorola Droid 4, LG Enlighten and Samsung Stratosphere, this Pantech device gets the number of slider phones offered by the network carrier up to four.

Citing the source of the news as an anonymous tipster, Android and Me says that the successor to the Breakout will be showing some love for those scaling down the lower end of the price ladder. Unfortunately, there’s no word with regards to a release date for this phone. If it wasn’t for those NenaMark benchmark results and a tester who uploaded the pictures to Picassa, Verizon might have been happy to take everyone quite by surprise with an official announcement about it sometime in the near future.

As far as the unconfirmed specifications are concerned, the smartphone works on Ice Cream Sandwich and embeds a 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor. Stretched across its face are a 4-inch WVGA display and a camera for making video calls. A very basic 3MP snapper is flashed by the rear panel. Additionally, users get access to Bluetooth 4.0 for connectivity and a 5-row QWERTY keypad for typing needs.

Star Q Verizon

The Pantech Star Q Verizon price is expected to be $99 (approx. Rs. 5,500) along with a customer contract and applicable plans, of course. It will run on the network operator’s 4G LTE band.
