4G LTE Motorola Droid 4 to go up for sale on February 10 through Verizon

The Verizon Motorola Droid 4 that was announced back in January during the CES, finally has a release date. This slim 4G LTE smartphone has geared up to hit store shelves through the carrier on February 10.

The phone is equipped by a five-row physical keypad featuring edge-lit keys and claims to be the thinnest QWERTY device with a thickness of about less than half an inch. It is adorned by a 4-inch qHD multi-touch display, reinforced with scratch resistant glass. This Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 based Motorola handset is upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich.

Moreover, the gadget is armed with an 8MP camera capable of capturing 1080p HD videos, in addition to a front facing webcam to facilitate video conferencing over the internet. It acquires multitasking properties from a dual core 1.2GHz processor, while the 4G LTE network speed of the service provider should ensure a fast web browsing experience. It also acts as a mobile hotspot to share the 4G LTE network speed with up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices.

The business-ready Verizon offering boasts of government-grade encryption for contacts, calendar and email. Additionally, it is loaded with applications like Citrix Receiver and MotoCast for instant access to data stored on PC systems. Its Smart Actions app can be customized for a number of tasks such as setting the phone on vibration mode or dimming the display, that eventually help in optimizing battery efficiency. Furthermore, the Droid 4 works in conjunction with the Lapdock 500 to create a mobile office for users.

The 4G LTE Motorola Droid 4 release date and price have been disclosed. It will be available starting February 10, for $199.99 (approx. Rs. 9,800) through Verizon Wireless Communications stores and the official website. It requires a two-year customer agreement, a Nationwide Talk plan and a smartphone data package.
