Windows Phone-based Samsung Omnia M arrives in India

The latest addition to the Omnia series that takes the company’s Windows Phone legacy forward is the Samsung Omnia M smartphone for India. The device boasts of improved connectivity and is deployed with version 7.5 of the OS in question.

This handset dons a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen on its front panel and adopts the tile-based Metro user interface. It allows users to launch multiple applications at the same time, thanks to 384MB RAM and a 1GHz processor that rests under the hood. Additionally, the phone ships with 4GB internal storage and a 5MP primary camera to facilitate recording videos and capturing still shots. Video conferencing is taken care of by its front-mounted VGA webcam.

The Samsung handset has been pre-loaded with a number of applications, including the company’s cross-platform messaging service, ChatOn. Some other pre-installed apps are Family story, Daily Briefing, RSS Times, Photo Studio, Mini Diary and Tango. The Wi-Fi-enabled device also features Xbox Live that lets users access their gaming information from the service directly on their phones.

The Samsung Omnia M price in India is pegged at Rs. 18,650.
