TalkTalk Huawei Ascend G 330 price for UK divulged, release date to fall in December

The Huawei Ascend G 330 smartphone’s price in the UK has been revealed for TalkTalk, but its exact release date is yet to be confirmed by the carrier. This phone’s unlocked version has also been picked up by Amazon and it has hit pre-order status through Expansys in the country.

The Chinese manufacturer’s Android-based smartphone comes splashed in shades of black or white. It tips the scales at merely 130 grams and measures not more than 11 millimeters in thickness. The device is not only pre-loaded with apps like BBC iPlayer and BBC News, but also a Sims Freeplay EA game for keeping users entertained on the move. It is slated to make its debut in December, that’s next month.

A successor to the previously unveiled Ascend G 300, the 3G handset in question takes advantage of the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Apart from this, it has been deployed with the OEM’s HAP 5.1 Android interface which offers one touch access to frequently-used applications like messaging, camera, phone and more from the lockscreen itself. This Huawei smartphone boasts of a 4-inch multi-touch display which can deliver images in 480 x 800p resolution, a 5MP camera with flash and front-facing VGA webcam.

And if that’s not enough, the Wi-Fi-Ascend G 330 claims to render high quality audio with the help of its high-quality DTS sound. A 1GHz dual core processor should facilitate multitasking, fast web browsing, smooth navigation as well as gaming. It ships with 512MB of RAM, 4GB internal storage and an expansion slot to increase the memory by up to 32GB using a microSD card. It draws power from a 1500mAh battery.

The aforementioned carrier has also picked up the Ascend Y 201, an entry-level device which runs on the Android Gingerbread 2.3 platform. Its front panel is graced by a 3.5-inch IPS touchscreen and the flip side sports a 3.2MP camera. The phone can multitask thanks to the integrated 800MHz chipset and provide power life of up to 5 hours using a 1250mAh lithium-ion battery. It even has a microSD card slot for increasing the memory by up to 32GB.

The Huawei Ascend G 330 will be up for sale for free with a contract and a data plan of £10 (approx. Rs. 895), £15 (approx. Rs. 1,340) or £25 (approx. Rs. 2,230) monthly rental at TalkTalk. Its unlocked version costs £181.98 (approx. Rs. 16,245) through Amazon UK.
