Price details of the Nokia Asha 205 have been disclosed and its release date is likely to fall sometime before the end of 2012. So users can expect the device to toddle into markets before the holiday season kicks off.
The conglomerate has also introduced the all new Slam function that can be used to instantly transfer digital content to and from most Bluetooth-certified gadgets. Claimed to be the ‘ultimate social phone,’ the Asha 205 has been fitted with a tactile QWERTY keyboard to facilitate typing on the move. The handset is not only pre-loaded with the Facebook application, but also embedded with a dedicated button for instant access to this social network.
Besides, it also features eBuddy Chat as well as Twitter and supports multiple email clients such as Gmail. Similar to other Asha phones, it allows users to download as many as 40 EA games. The feature phone is available in both single and dual SIM variants and the latter one boasts of the EasySwap technology too. Drenched in shades of cyan, magenta and orange, it claims to provide standby time of about 25 days.
This Nokia handset accommodates a 2.4-inch LCD display of 240 x 320p resolution on the front panel, while a 0.3MP snapper with a full-screen view finder, self timer, still image editor, 1.8mm focal length and 4x digital zoom lays claim over the flip side. It is compatible with 2G mobile networks like GPRS, EDGE as well as EGPRS and boasts of Nokia Xpress Internet platform which claims to reduce the data consumption by a considerable amount.
The device that tips the scales at 94 grams, measures 112.8 x 61.1 x 13 millimeters. Powered by the Series 40 Asha operating system, it ships with 64MB internal memory and allows users to increase the storage by up to 32GB with a little assistance from a microSD card. The 1020mAh battery can be expected to offer talk time of close to 11 hours in between charges.
The Nokia Asha 205 will be available in the fourth quarter of this year itself, for a price of $62 (approx. Rs. 3,450) before taxes.
