The Huawei Ascend G300 and Ascend Y200 have arrived in India at prices of Rs. 13,490 and Rs. 8,190, respectively. These fresh smartphones are the very first members of the G and the Y and run on the Gingerbread platform.
The Ascend G300 packs in a 4-inch WVGS IPS display which sits pretty on the front panel, sporting a hard screen technology that resists fingerprint marks. Fitted onto the flip side of the device is a 5MP primary camera that tags along an LED flash and video recording capabilities. The company has employed a CPU that ticks at 1.5GHz for carrying out operations. And in terms of battery life, the Gingerbread-based smartphone is said to get completely juiced up in less than 2 hours.

On the visual front, the Huawei Ascend Y200 sports a 3.5-inch IPS touchscreen that dominates the front panel. Resting beneath the hood is a Qualcomm processor that ticks at 800MHz. Targeting the younger segment, it flaunts a ‘U’ form factor with a 3D textured back panel. For imaging purposes, snap-happy users can will have a 3.2MP rear-facing camera. There is also the dual mic that cuts down the background noise during calls. The handset is powered by a 1250mAh battery that is said to get fully charged in roughly 90 minutes.
