LG Optimus LTE II with 2GB RAM to arrive in Korea soon

LG Optimus LTE II 01

The LG Optimus LTE II that’s the only such device in Korea to offer a combination of 2GB RAM and LTE connectivity, is all set to make its appearance this week itself. It will initially be rolled out only in Korea followed by other regions in the future.

The integrated 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm MSM8960 chipset teams up with 2GB DDR RAM for multitasking properties, while the new user interface works in conjunction with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform for intuitive navigation through the smartphone. Its front panel is draped by a 4.7-inch True HD IPS display of 1280 x 720p resolutions. The 8MP rear-facing camera comes with the Voice Shutter feature to recognize the user’s voice in order to take a picture and the 1.3MP front-facing webcam can be utilized for making video calls.

“The Optimus LTE II is the most powerful smartphone technology currently available in Korea. With a faster LTE network, the barrier for downloading and running very large applications is no longer a significant one for many customers, which is why LG saw a need for more RAM on high-end smartphones,” quoted Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

The phone’s 16GB internal memory can be expanded using a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity. This Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled handset is also NFC certified and sports a USB 2.0 port. Additionally, it draws power from a 2,150mAh battery with SiO+ technology and tags along attributes such as Quick Memo, widget size control, Face Unlock, folder management tools and more. A magnetic induction wireless charging system will be sold separately to power up the device.

The LG Optimus LTE II release date and price are yet to be confirmed.
