Though price details of the HTC Butterfly that showed up on the company’s global website, are not known, it has been put up for pre-order in the UK through Expansys. As the name suggests, it is the international version of the J Butterfly and its US-bound counterpart Droid DNA.

The e-retailer who is asking prospective users to reserve the smartphone or the Taiwanese OEM haven’t made an official announcement. Pocketnow spotted this news on Android Chaotic and reported that the device is up for pre-order via Expansys UK. The Australian and other regional European versions of this website have also listed the handset, but its availability status has been kept under wraps for now.

As for the specifications of the Butterfly, it flaunts a stylish form factor with dimensions of 143 x 70.5 x 9.08 millimeters. Its key specification is the huge touchscreen which takes over the front panel and has a Corning Gorilla Glass coating over it. This Super LCD 3 full HD display offers a multi-touch real estate of 5 inches and projects vivid visuals in 1920 x 1080p resolution.

Moreover, the device has been integrated with a powerful internal system that is handled by a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor which ticks at 1.5GHz. There’s 2GB of RAM to accompany the chipset. The smartphone binges on the latest Android platform, that is, Jelly Bean and is deployed with HTC Sense for an intuitive user interface.

Front And Rear

The Beats Audio-enabled phone features built-in Wi-Fi, DLNA support and Bluetooth in addition to a 3.5mm stereo jack and a micro USB 2.0 port. An external HDMI cable can be used to establish connections with big screen HDTVs. The device is armed with a front-mounted 2.1MP webcam that can record videos in 1080p resolution. Additionally, it sports an 8MP auto focus snapper with LED flash and a dedicated HTC ImageChip. The gadget is fueled by a 2020mAh lithium-polymer battery.
