AT&T HTC 8X up or pre-order, features WP8, 4.3-inch touchscreen and Beats Audio

HTC 8X

The HTC 8X from AT&T that was slated to be made available sometime before Thanksgiving has finally hit pre-order status in the US. But the carrier is yet to assign a release date to the Windows Phone 8 device.

This service provider announced the phone’s arrival last month and its price a couple of days ago. Along with it, AT&T also disclosed the availability details of other Windows-based gadgets such as the Lumia 820, Lumia 920 and Ativ Smart PC. Moreover, the Android-powered Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has also hit store shelves.

Limelight Yellow

The 8X is said to be the first WP8 smartphone that tags along Beats Audio in order to deliver an improved acoustic experience on the move. While its 16GB version is debuting through Verizon as well, the 8GB model is exclusive to AT&T. The latter comes drenched in shades of california blue and limelight yellow.

Measuring 132.35 x 66.2 x 10.12 millimeters, the handset that tips the scales at 130 grams along with the battery, has a 4.3-inch touchscreen fitted on the front panel. This high definition Super LCD 2 display of 720p resolution has a Corning Gorilla Glass coating on top for withstanding scratches.

Furthermore, an 8MP camera with features like a dedicated ImageChip, BSI sensor, auto focus, LED flash, f2.0 aperture, 28mm lens and more sits on the flip side. A 2.1MP front-mounted webcam with f2.0 aperture, ImageChip and the ability to record videos of 1080p resolution accompanies the primary snapper.

The internal working of this smartphone is carried out under the supervision of a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and 1GB of RAM. It is compatible with mobile networks such as GPRS, EDGE, HSPA and WCDMA and arrives with built-in Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n for internet access if there’s an open hotspot. The other attributes of the device include Bluetooth, NFC, a 3.5mm audio jack and a 1800mAh lithium-ion polymer battery.

The 16GB HTC 8X from AT&T is priced at $199.99 (approx. Rs. 10,865), while the 8GB phone is for $99.99 (approx. Rs. 5,435).
