Asus Google Nexus 7 price in India is under Rs. 20,000, hits availability status

The price in India of the Asus Google Nexus 7 has been tagged just under Rs. 20,000 that is approximately double the amount for which it is available in the US. While the imported tablet had already been put up for sale in the country, its official release has been announced only now by the concerned companies.

While NDTV Gadgets seems unsure about which version of the gadget costs Rs. 20,000, it could most probably be the 16GB one. The device has been spotted on various online retailers’ site including Tradus, Indiatimes, HomeShop 18, Croma and more. As of now, it has been removed from Croma and is out of stock via Indiatimes. As far as the other two e-retailers are concerned, they are selling the imported 16GB and 8GB versions.

The device that has come to India isn’t the latest refreshed variant that features 32GB internal storage and the Jelly Bean 4.2 platform. Instead both companies have decided to launch the previously introduced 16GB and 8GB Nexus 7 that was powered by the Android 4.1 operating system. As the name suggests, it comes with a capacitive display that provides a multi-touch real estate of 7 inches.

This touchscreen, reinforced with a Corning Gorilla Glass film, can deliver high definition images in 1280 x 800p resolution at a pixel density of 216ppi. While it is devoid of a rear-facing primary snapper, the slate has been embedded with a 2.1MP front-mounted camera. It facilitates clicking images, recording videos and engaging in face-to-face video conferencing over the web.

And if that’s not enough, the Google-branded slab boasts of employing a powerful internal hardware system. Besides 1GB of RAM to ensure smooth multitasking and navigation, the device is integrated with a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 4-Plus-1 processor. It has a fifth core which is responsible for saving up on battery life. The slate draws power from a 4325mAh battery and offers web browsing time of close to 10 hours.

The Asus Google Nexus 7 tablet’s price is Rs. 19,999. The 8GB and 16GB variants can be picked up for Rs. 16,808 and Rs. 18,680 from online retailers like Indiatimes.
