The price of the HTC 8S has gone live through Three and the mid-range device which will not be arriving in the US, has hit availability status in the UK already. Besides the latest Microsoft mobile platform, the handset brings features like Beats Audio, Live Tiles and a dual core processor for an improved performance.
This stylish device designed by the Taiwanese manufacturer, flaunts a slim form factor which weighs approximately 113 grams along with the battery. Its dimensions are 120.5 x 63 x 10.28 millimeters. The phone’s front panel can easily accommodate a 4-inch Super LCD WVGA multi-touch display that is reinforced with a Corning Gorilla Glass coating for withstanding scratches.
It takes full advantage of the Windows Phone 8 platform and tags along a 5MP camera along with attributes such as auto focus, LED flash, a 35mm lens and the ability to record videos at 720p resolution. A dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor that ticks at 1GHz is the driving force behind the smartphone’s smooth navigation and efficient multitasking.
Along with 512MB of RAM, the 8S is loaded with 4GB of onboard storage. It also has a dedicated expansion slot to increase the memory with a little assistance from a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity. An internal GPS antenna with GLONASS has been deployed in the phone and it extends support to micro SIM cards as well.
Integrated with Beats Audio technology, the HTC device also boasts of communication options like Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.1. The HTC 8S is now available with a two-year customer agreement for a price of £19 (approx. Rs. 1,160) per month with the Ultimate Internet 100 plan and for £17 (approx. Rs. 1,485) monthly rental with the Essential Internet 100 plan. It can also be picked up for £179.99 (approx. Rs. 15,715) with a Pay As You Go monthly plan starting at £15 (approx. Rs. 1,310).
