After being speculated for quite some time now, there’s finally some news confirming the possibility of the LG Optimus G Nexus being the company’s first Google-branded phone that could have a US launch sometime soon. Well, the name of the device is yet to be disclosed and it is said to carry several features of the manufacturer’s flagship smartphone.

According the folks over at CNET, LG plans to make an official announcement by the end of this month. The handset will be tailored to fit the requirements of the Nexus program and who knows, it could bring in the latest version of the Jelly Bean platform, a tradition that’s common for most Google devices. The company is not the only one to come up with a Nexus phone, says the source. And this might just turn out to be true if HTC launches the Droid Incredible X or One X 5 smartphone as the Google Nexus 5.

With regards to the specifications of the device in question, Modaco says that the handset is likely to sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon quad processor in addition to having 2GB of RAM. Buyers might also get to see a True HD IPS display that’s said to deliver a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. As for the hoarding capacity, it will come with options of 8GB or 16GB internal storage. However, the smartphone might not offer a microSD card slot for further memory expansion.
