LG Optimus G kicks in Snapdragon S4 Pro SOC, True HD IPS+ display

New Optimus Superphone

Over the week, the LG Optimus G has been making headlines with rumors pertaining to its processor, display and battery life. And now, the company has at last introduced its newest premium device with claims to deliver ‘powerful performance’ and an enhanced user experience.

After a number of speculations, it has finally turned out to be true; the handset indeed packs in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro quad core processor with clock speeds of 1.5GHz. It flaunts a 4.7-inch WXGA True HD IPS+ display which provides a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels and an aspect ratio of 15:9. Riding into town on the Ice Cream Sandwich platform, this device comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

“We are confident that users will have a superior experience with everything that we’re offering in the Optimus G,” remarked Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Optimus G isn’t just another high-performance phone with the latest bells and whistles. It’s a collaboration of some of the best component makers on the planet coming together for a singular cause, to develop a smartphone that stands out in a sea of me-too devices.”

Talking about the LG Optimus G front panel, the company has included its G2 Touch Hybrid Display which is said to be thinner and stronger than most mobile screens. Another highlight of this smartphone is its 2,100mAh battery that offers a lifespan of 800 cycles against the 500 cycles delivered by conventional handset batteries.

On the flip side, a 13MP camera tags along features such as Time Catch Shot, Chesse Shutter and Live Zooming for imaging purposes. The smartphone also sports a 1.3MP secondary snapper which facilitates video chats whilst on the go. For browsing purposes, users have Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G LTE connectivity at their disposal.

The company is yet to disclose the LG Optimus G price and release date details.
