5-inch HTC Google Nexus 5 in the works

After Mountain View traversed into the tablet market with the high-profile launch of the Nexus 7, it seems a 5-inch phablet dubbed the HTC Google Nexus 5 is on the cards too. According to the rumors doing the rounds, Google is all set to partner with the Taiwanese manufacturer to bring a brand new Nexus device into the tech scenario.

Following the unveiling of the tablet, it was clear that the Google-Nexus affair was not just limited to the Galaxy Nexus smartphone. The other device to drop in may be the rumored HTC Droid Incredible X or One X 5, though nothing is confirmed at present.

The folks over at GSMArena dug up the news through an anonymous tipster who claims to have received the specification details from a trusted source within the HTC quarters. According to the supposed revelations, the new smartphone will be integrated with a quad core Snapdragon S4 processor to enable swift web surfing.

The speculated 5-inch real estate is expected to allow streaming of clips in a resolution of up to 1080p full HD. One apparent highlight of this particular device could be its Android 4.1.2-laced status. So does this mean that it will mark the release of another version of Jelly Bean? All the hardware components are said to be fitted into a compact profile.

Moreover, its internal memory is claimed to tag along a whopping 64GB and that should provide plenty of room for storage. The device is slated to operate on 4G LTE networks to speed up its mobile function. We might see a joint show put forth by a 12MP rear and a 2MP front snapper if the buzz is to be believed.

For now, the ‘pinch of salt’ moniker fits in perfectly here as it is not clear if the Taiwanese cookie will indeed come to life as the HTC Google Nexus 5 or not.
