The all new Sony NEX-EA50EH camcorder tags along an interchangeable lens system. Apart from offering flexibility in selection, the gadget also dons a fresh form factor as compared to the older devices in the same series.

Along with a 16.1MP Exmor APS-C HD sensor, this camera is incorporated with the company’s E PZ 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 OSS SELP18200 Power Zoom E-Mount lens to offer optimized AF, auto exposure and optical steady shot for image stabilization in Active Mode. It is outfitted with an in-built mechanical shutter that could prove handy while capturing fast moving objects. The device is capable of delivering 1080p progressive and interlace video recordings.

“This all-in-one camcorder brings a new level of creativity to a wider range of professional users than ever before,” remarked Bill Drummond, Sony Europe. “It combines affordability and high performance with a range of versatile, professional features for many applications, including event production, budget movie making and corporate production.”

Apart from the above-mentioned highlights, the Sony camcorder tags along features that are commonly seen in the NXCAM series like 2-channel XLR audio through an ECM-XM1 Shotgun microphone, time code, integrated GPS and Linear PCM audio, amongst others. Then there is the extended shoulder pad that’s fitted within the device for an enhanced user experience. In terms of memory, this snapper supports the latest Mirroring Memory Stick cards with capacities of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB, in addition to the company’s HXR-FMU128 flash storage unit.

The Sony NEX-EA50EH price is still under wraps, but the company has plans to release the device sometime in October via its Professional Solutions Specialists.
