Acer Aspire ME, XC Series price spelled out, release date set for October 26

Aspire ME

The Acer Aspire ME Series and Aspire XC Series price and release date details are out and the desktops will be hitting store shelves by the end of this month with many other Window 8 devices including the Iconia W700 and Samsung Vaio Tap 20. While the former makes space for an Intel Core i7 or i5 processor, the latter has a Core i3 CPU doing all the heavy lifting.

First on the list we have the Acer Aspire ME that’s said to be capable enough to handle advanced applications. It can be configured with a 2TB HDD and up to 10GB of DDR3 RAM which is further expandable up to 16GB. The device comes with a pair of open PCI-E x1 slots to install sound, graphics and RAID cards as well as a PCI-E x16 opening for video cards. Plus, users have two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports for hooking up peripherals like keyboards, mice, speakers, webcams and much more. Features like an HDMI and a VGA port with support for up to two displays and Bluetooth 4.0 are added as well.

Aspire XC

Next up is the Aspire XC Series that comes in a slim form factor to save on space. Users will have to hit the eject button to flip open the optical door and employ the desktop. This feature helps in preventing dust from entering and damaging the device. From what the company has to say, the PC makes video playback, editing and gaming a breeze, owing to its 3rd generation Core i3 2130 processor and 6GB of built-in memory. This Acer device also offers an HDMI port and will come with eight USB 2.0 slots and a 1TB HDD.

The price for the Acer Aspire ME Series starts at $649.99 (approx. Rs. 35,000), while the Aspire XC Series will be available for purchase for $399.99 (approx. Rs. 21,535) and up. Their release date has been scheduled to fall on October 26.
