What would come to anyone’s mind when they hear the term iPod nano? Well, now change the misconception that this device is a straightforward music player. Here’s introducing the iPod nano that shoots videos and brings along a mic as well as a speaker.

With this latest device, users can now shoot videos, view them on their iPod nano or use their computers and easily upload them onto YouTube. The new iPod nano also features an ultra-thin sleek design and a larger 2.2-inch color display along with a striking polished aluminum and glass chassis. This dainty device also features an integrated FM radio that can be live paused and iTunes which can be tagged. It also has a built-in pedometer.

“iPod nano is the world’s most popular music player with over 100 million sold,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “And now we’ve added a video camera to its incredibly thin design, without any additional cost to the user.”

With a larger 2.2-inch display, users can now navigate more easily and enjoy album art or shoot and view video clips more conveniently. This ultra portable device will allow shooting at any given point in either portrait or landscape mode. Viewing videos can now be done as well by simply using its display and speaker or one can choose to sync with Mac or PC. This revamped model will also shoot videos with real time effects such as Thermal, Film Grain, Kaleido and X-Ray.

The live pause will enable users to pause and resume playing their favorite FM radio shows. With the iTunes tagging, users can easily tag the song they like and preview, purchase. This device also features Genius Mixes that automatically creates up to 12 endless mixes of songs from one’s iTunes library.

With an in-built pedometer, this gadget will also prove to be a great work out companion as it will keep a tack of steps taken and calories burned. On a single charge, this gizmo will last up to 24 hours when users are listening to music and while viewing videos it will stay for a period of five hours.

The new iPod nano comes with an option of two storage capacities. The 8GB model holds up to 2,000 songs, 7,000 photos and eight hours of video, seven hours of captured video. On the other hand a 16GB model holds up to 4,000 songs, 14,000 photos and 16 hours of video, 14 hours of captured video.

The 8GB model comes for a price of $149 (approx Rs.7,227) while the 16GB model can be availed for $179 (approx Rs.8,682). The iPod nano comes with an option of nine brilliant colors including silver, black, purple, blue, green, orange, yellow, red and pink.
