With the introduction of the Vision Research Phantom v411, the manufacturer has expanded its Phantom 1 Mpx v-Series line-up of digital high speed cameras. The device can be used in conducting scientific research, explosive testing, ballistics and much more.

Equipped with 1280 x 800 CMOS sensors, even at the highest resolution the snapper is capable of capturing at 4200 fps. It features large 20 micron pixels that enable it to capture stills even in low lighting conditions. The optional Phanton CineMag feature provides onboard storage to hoard content along with long record time applications. Features like Extreme Dynamic Range, Image-Based Auto-Trigger functions and internal capping shutter are also thrown into the mix.

“The Phantom v-Series is suited for a number of applications, including scientific research, product development, ballistics, explosive testing and more,” asserted Rick Robinson, Division VP Marketing, Vision Research. “The latest Phantom v-Series cameras improve the usability of the line while maintaining the same speed, sensitivity and high-performance for which they have always been recognized.”

Upgrades can be picked up for the v411 to the v711 and for the v311 to the v611. The company has loaded the snappers with enhanced on-camera controls and connectivity that provides a platform to research and test industrial functions. The camera is wrapped in a white body that reflects heat to keep it cool.
