After the new digital cameras, Sony has launched a camcorder called HVR-HD1000U. The new camcorder features a shoulder-mount design and is mainly targeted at professionals like wedding video-graphers, small documentary creators, freelancers etc.
The new model supports both HDV as well as the standard-definition DV formats. The HDV format allows users to shoot nearly 60 minutes of HD video on a 6mm cassette tape.
Major features of the HVR-HD1000U include: Super SteadyShot, 1/2.9-inch ClearVid CMOS sensor system, 6.1MP still images, electronic view finder (EVF) and Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonner T 10x optical zoom lens.
“Our professional HDV camcorders are designed to offer customers high-definition shooting capability, along with maximum revenue-generating opportunities at a modest investment,†said Bob Ott, vice president of marketing for professional video products at Sony Electronics.
“With its shoulder-mount design, this new camera brings affordable HD capabilities to a broader range of pro shooters,†Ott continued.
Sony plans to avail the HVR-HD1000U camcorder by December 2007 at an estimated price of $1,900 (approx Rs. 77,750).

really this is a wonderful camcorder in that range HDV qualitywith 10x zoom, 6.1 mp on running camera special that it is given shoulder mount also. by using filters u can capture the whole world…………….
