The company reveals the new Walkman NWZ-W250 series MP3 player delivering users superior soundtracks for their workout irrespective of the environment thanks to its water resistant fabrication.

The wearable has been fashioned to suit sports and active lifestyles. In a stylish and wire-free design that’s interestingly also water resistant, users can actually wear the player not just when they train but also when they shower or when out in the rain. Yes, the weather should also not play party-pooper with this device.

Besides being chic, the player is also comfortable to wear and presents a secure fit. Its wire free and all-in-one fabrication only seems to add to the appeal. The super-light device boasts of Sony’s Walkman sound quality with 13.5mm EX Comfort fit earphones. Enabled for effortless transfer of music from a host of sources, incorporation of Zappin further renders it simple to skip playlists and folder, creating favorite soundtrack.

Resisting rain splashes or sweat from physical activities, users can rinse the player under the tap. Simply pressing the jog lever enables users to move over to the next folder. The Zappin technology scans through the tracks that are stored and plays samples of each song. A quick 3-minute charge should further give users around 90 minutes listening time when in a hurry. Users are offered around 11 hours of seamless listening on a fully charged battery.

Supplemented by a charging stand that can also function as a USB dock, the player also incorporates the Content Transfer software. The latter allows music files to be moved straight from the PC. The player will be available in two capacities namely the 2GB NWZ-W252 and the 4GB NWZ-W253. Weighing in at 43g, the device is available in black, white, pink, lime green colors.

The company additionally will also be releasing the JBL On Stage III dock soon. Compatible to all Walkman models, the dock will proffer a lenient 10W+10W output power. Adorning a stylish appearance with a striking curved design, it should be powered by batteries and accessorized by a handy remote control. The device should charge Walkman even when users are listening to music. The dock is slated to release around spring 2010.

As for Sony’s new Walkman NWZ-W250 series MP3 player, it will hit shelves from late May 2010. Its price has not been revealed yet.
