Now, according to the official Finis blog, the company unveils the Swimsense performance monitor which has to be worn around the wrist while swimming. The device intuitively detects and records the number of laps, total distance, calories burned, lap time, pace and stroke count using the motion sensing technology.
Integrated with automatic stroke recognition, the solution claims to be the first performance monitor that can automatically distinguishes between backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle. Besides all these handy features, custom settings enable users to organize Swimsense for various pool sizes, and personalize calorie calculations by specifying gender, weight and age.
The device records detailed training data and may be a suitable option for fitness enthusiasts and recreational swimmers. Users can review their swim data on the computer. In addition, users can now enjoy a free online workout viewer and can upload workout through a USB connection to review around 14 workouts or swims to examine progress with a sense of effectiveness.
The company allures users by offering a subscription Training Log which helps owners track goals, create workout plans and save several previous workouts for performance analysis. This app can be upgraded with automatic software updates.
The attractive gadget can be purchased for $199.99 (approx Rs. 9,333) and will be made available beginning this 2010 holiday season.
