The 128GB iPad 4 release date has been revealed to be February 5, that’s next Tuesday and the tablet will be launched with a starting price for India of Rs. 49,900. Only recently, we came across reports suggesting the possibility of 128GB iOS 6 devices and now Apple has went on to confirm them by releasing this slate. Hopefully, an iPhone 5 variant with this storage capacity is also in the pipeline.

Available in the country as Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + cellular versions, the 128GB iPad 4 continues to pack in internal hardware that’s similar to the fourth generation Apple tablet with Retina display. It employs a 9.7-inch LED-backlit multi-touch display with IPS technology coated with an oleophobic film. This screen can deliver pictures in 2048 x 1536p resolution with a pixel density of 264ppi. The tab comes drenched in shades of black and white.

The slate is powered by a dual core A6X chipset to maintain smooth multitasking even when launching more than one application at the same time. Quad core graphics have been thrown into the mix for rendering improved visuals at all times. It is powered by the iOS 6.1 which tags along some additional features such as LTE support across the globe, iTunes Match and ultrafast wireless performance to name a few.

In order to allow users to make FaceTime video calls, the company has embedded an HD webcam on the front side of the slab. Its flip side is dominated by a 5MP iSight camera with attributes like auto focus, face detection, backside illumination, video stabilization, the ability to shoot 1080p movies and more. The slab’s connectivity options are inclusive of a 3.5mm stereo headphone mini-jack and a lightning port. A built-in 42.5 watt-hour battery is responsible for coughing up the juice for web surfing time of close to 10 hours over Wi-Fi.

The Wi-Fi only version of the 128GB iPad 4 costs Rs. 49,900, while the Wi-Fi + cellular variant will set users back by Rs. 54,190. It will be up for sale through authorized dealers across the country.
