The 128GB iPad 4 release date for the US and UK has been placed by Apple on February 5, and the company has even gone on to reveal the price tags with which the product will be launched in both the regions. In the US, the Wi-Fi model will be seen retailing at $799 (approx. Rs. 42,670), whereas the Wi-Fi + Cellular variant will be placed at $929 (approx. Rs. 49,610). On the other hand, its cost in the UK reads as follows: £639 (approx. Rs. 53,800) for the Wi-Fi version and £739 (approx. Rs. 62,220) for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model.
Announcing the launch of the 128GB iPad 4, Philip Schiller, who’s the senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Apple revealed that the company has managed to sell 120 million tablets in total, all around the globe. He has also mentioned that with this new addition to its lineup, enterprises, educators and artists are set to receive more reasons to utilize it for their business and personal needs. Like its previous models, the newer edition of the tablet too will be offered in black and white colors.
First launched in November last year, this fourth generation version of the slab carries on it a 9.7-inch Retina display which is able to proffer a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels at 264ppi. Moreover, it also has an oleophobic coating layered onto it for resistance against fingerprints. This slim device has its dimensions set at 241.2mm x 185.7mm x 9.4mm, while its weight varies between 652 grams and 662 grams for its Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular versions, respectively.
The device comes equipped with a 5MP iSight camera on its rear, while there’s also a front-facing 1.2MP FaceTime HD snapper with 720p HD video recording capabilities. Instead of the old Thunderbolt connector, it has been granted the Lightning connector at its bottom for easy handling. This slate runs on a dual core A6X processor which also features quad core graphics. Its other attributes include a three-axis gyro, an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, a digital compass and more.
