AT&T, Verizon iPad mini, fourth generation iPad price details announced

Along with Sprint, AT&T has also announced prices of the iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad, which are now available for purchase through authorized retailers and the official website. Verizon Wireless has promptly put these devices up for sale as well.

Both aforementioned carriers are selling all variants of these Apple tablets in both black and white shades. They can be picked up in versions featuring 16GB, 32GB or 64GB internal memory. While the big red carrier is selling the iPads with month-to-month plans without a contract, AT&T lets users choose between signing a two-year agreement and opting for monthly data plans.

To refresh memories, the iPad mini is fueled by a dual core A5 chipset and runs on the latest iOS 6 operating system that tags along over 200 new features. The device with dimensions of 7.87 x 5.3 x 0.28 inches, houses a 1024 x 768p 7.9-inch LED backlit IPS multi-touch display on the front panel along with an HD webcam for making FaceTime calls. It even employs a 5MP iSight camera and a 16.3 watt-hour battery that can cough up the juice for web browsing time of about 9 hours on a cellular network.

The fourth generation iPad adheres to the form factor adopted by its predecessors and flaunts a multi-touch Retina display spanning 9.7 inches that renders 2048 x 1536p resolution at 264ppi. A dual core A6X chipset calls the shots and it is powered by the iOS 6 platform. A quad core GPU has been integrated for rendering improved graphics. Fitted with a 5MP iSight camera and a 1.2MP FaceTime webcam, it allows users to browse the web for close to 9 hours at a stretch.

Prices of the iPad mini and fourth generation iPad have been announced by AT&T and Verizon. The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB mini cost $459.99 (approx. Rs. 25,395), $559.99 (approx. Rs. 30,890) and $659.99 (approx. Rs. 36,410), respectively and the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iPad is available for $629.99 (approx. Rs. 34,760), $729.99 (approx. Rs. 40,280) and $829.99 (approx. Rs. 45,795), correspondingly, off-contract through both carriers.
