Fourth generation iPad price starts at $499, coming on November 2

The price of the fourth generation iPad has toddled into the market scene starting at $499, in addition to the long-awaited iPad mini. As speculated, Apple has also introduced the Mac mini and the 13-inch MacBook pro along with the new iMac at the event held on October 23.

A successor to the third generation iPad, the latest tablet flaunts a Retina display that offers multi-touch real estate spanning 9.7 inches. It boasts of delivering ultrafast wireless performance and hides an A6X chip under the hood, which is believed to be twice as good as the A5X chipset. The device is powered by the latest iOS 6 platform that tags along as many as 200 new features.

While the slate continues to employ a thin and lightweight form factor, this edition is said to be capable of coughing up the juice for computing time of about 10 hours at a stretch. The LTE-certified slab ensures wireless internet access wherever there’s an available hotspot, thanks to its built-in Wi-Fi. It sports a Lightning connector, while a FaceTime HD camera graces the front panel of the fourth generation iPad, enabling users to make video calls on the move.

Drenched in shades of black or white, its Wi-Fi + Cellular models will hit stores through AT&T, Sprint and Verizon in the coming weeks. The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB cellular versions will set users back by $629 (approx. Rs. 33,805), $729 (approx. Rs. 39,175) and $829 (approx. Rs. 44,550), correspondingly. Pre-orders start on October 26, that’s tomorrow.

The fourth generation iPad release date falls on November 2 and its 16GB, 32GB and 64GB Wi-Fi variants can be purchased for a price of $499 (approx. Rs. 26,815), $599 (approx. Rs. 32,190) and $699 (approx. Rs. 37,555), respectively. It will be available through Apple Online and Retail stores as well as authorized dealers in a number of countries including the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Spain, Japan, Korea, France and Germany.
