Through the recently introduced Intel SSD 520 series, the company claims to be offering more reliability and performance to users looking for a media storage device. The gadget is aimed at several groups of potential buyers like small or medium business owners, dedicated gamers, PC enthusiasts and other professionals.

Intel conveys this entrant to be its most robust and fastest SSD release, till date. The 6gbps SATA III drive has been developed using the manufacturer’s 25-nanometer NAND memory process technology. For enhanced performance, it has also been embedded with the LSI SandForce flash storage processor.

“We tapped Intel engineering to create a client SSD that delivers performance on all fronts with obsessively high reliability,” conveys Rob Crooke, Intel vice president and general manager of the Intel Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group. “The Intel SSD 520 once again raises the industry bar on SSD performance, quality and reliability to dramatically improve user experience.”

While picking up this device, users can select from varying memory capacities covering 60GB, 120GB, 180GB, 240GB and 480GB. The hardware is said to deliver approximately 80,000 maximum 4K random write Input-Output Operations Per Second (IOPS) as well as 50,000 4K random read IOPS. It is also capable of tendering high sequential read and performances of about 550MB/s and 520MB/s, respectively.

The Intel SSD 520 series price has been revealed by the company. The 60GB and 120GB options can be grabbed for $149 (approx. Rs. 7,350) and $229 (approx. Rs. 11,250), respectively. While 180GB variant may be purchased for $369, the 240GB device is priced at $509 (approx. Rs. 25,050). The 480GB SSD, which is the highest memory capacity option, can be acquired for $999 (approx. Rs. 49,150).
