Fans of the Canon Powershot A-series have a reason to rejoice, as the company has decided to add six new, 16MP members to the family covering the A4000 IS, A3400 IS, A2400 IS, A2300, A1300 and A810. Along with this, the manufacturer has also announced the release of three lenses – the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM, EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM and EF 28mm f/2.8 IS USM.
The A4000 IS is said to be the first device in this range to offer optical zoom of up to 8x. The A3400 is all set to flaunt itself as the first gadget in the A-series rendering a touch panel which strolls in along with Touch Focus and Touch Shutter shooting modes. Each of these cameras is equipped with a 3-inch LCD screen. The PowerShot A24000 IS features a 2.7-inch LCD.

The design of the PowerShot A1300 and A810 is aimed to cater to the tastes of those who prefer the conventional sort of devices for image capturing options. Both these gadgets can be powered using AA batteries and are crafted for ease of porting around on vacations or other such occasions. The A2300 permits optical zoom of about 5x and is fitted with a 2.7-inch LCD screen.
The Canon PowerShot A4000 IS price is revealed to be $199.99 (approx. Rs. 9,800) and it is set to hit markets this month. The A3400 IS can be picked up in March for $179.99 (approx. Rs. 8,820). The PowerShot A2400 IS and the A2300 are also expected to be made available next month, with price labels of $159.99 (approx. Rs. 7,840) and $149.99 (approx. Rs. 7,350), correspondingly. Scheduled for an April release, the PowerShot A1300 and A810 price tags read $119.99 (approx. Rs. 5,880) and $109.99 (approx. Rs. 5,390), respectively.
