Samsung Galaxy S III appears on company’s web page

Samsung Galaxy S III

The heaps of rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S III have received a new boost, even as another hint about the existence of this smartphone was spotted recently. GT-i9300 is the model number that’s being speculated as the new Galaxy S’, after it was spotted on the Samsung Global Download Center support website for the United Arab Emirates.

Unearthing the possible subsistence of this smartphone, Pocketnow has pointed out that GT-i9300 might well be the handset in question, on the grounds that the Galaxy S range has been using the i9xxx model numbers since its inception. While the Galaxy S was outed in the i90xx category, the Galaxy S II came tagged with i91xx, and the Galaxy Nexus, with i9250. Now according to this chronology, the forthcoming Galaxy S should have fallen under the i92xx range. But since this number has been taken by the other variant, the i93xx model number pretty much indicates the Galaxy S III.

This listing of the phone was found under the smartphone product subtype in the mobile device category; though following this revelation, the GT-i9300 moniker has been taken down from the website. Rumor mills have been abuzz about this handset ever since some of the device’s specs were spotted on the virtual space last year. And if these stories are to be believed, the smartphone would possess a quad-core 2GHz processor and as good as 1.5GB of RAM. Moreover, a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and a 12MP camera are some of its other speculated offerings.

Whether the sighting of the supposed Samsung Galaxy S III has some base to it or not, only time will tell. For now, it seems we would just have to wait and watch.
